Abstract

Isolation of neutral or basic Al acetylglycinates by spray-drying of their aq., alcoholic or aq.-alcoholic solns to give a finely-divided prod almost instantaneously. The prods. are gastric antacids which are very hygroscopic and difficult to isolate in a reasonable form by slow evapn. of solns. Usually the isolated prod. requires milling during which moisture is absorbed. Solns. contg. pref. 15% Al salt are dried, e.g. in a turbine-dryer having a turbine speed of 8000-50000 rpm, an air inlet temp. of 150-250 degrees C, and an exit temp. of 80-120 degrees C.
