Abstract

Faced particle board panels where the particles of the exposed layer comprise pulped particles (0.1 - 10 mm. across) of a hard fibre-forming thermoplastic. Pref. the layer comprises 10 - 90, pref. 30 - 70% homopolymer particles, pref. a polyamide, impregnated with a hot cured binder resin. Pulped particles may be made of homo- or co-polymer of vinyl or acrylonitrile monomers or of polyesters. Dressing may also contain other fibrous fillers or wood chips and may have a decorative overlay. For mfr. of particle board with an impermeable surface in a single pressing operation.
