Abstract

Vegetable extracts (or derivs.) solutions are purified to yield a soln. containing only carbohydrate using 4 ion-exchange resins C, A, MB and D. Resin C has a strong cationic action, having -SO3H type functional groups and a micro- or macro reticular structure. Resin A is a weak or medium anionic exchange resin, having polyaminic functional groups of a macro-reticular porous structure. Its porosity is not 35% of pore diameter is not 250 angstroms. Resin MB has strong cationic activity, -SO3H-type groups, and a macroreticular porous structure, such that the porosity is not 30% of pore diameter is not 250 angstroms. Resin D is a medium to strong anionic exchange resin, having polyamide or quaternary ammonium functional groups, and a macroreticular porous structure, such that the porosity is not 45% of pore diameter is not 500 angstroms.
