Abstract

In the principal patent the composn. inlcudes ground waste paper. The present improvement consists of a mixt. of polystyrene and glass fibres dispersed in e.g. trichloroethylene. It is applied to pipes, valves, vessels as insulation by brush or spray gun in inaccessible positions. The insulation is effective in thin layers and resistant to mechanical shocks. A first layer of polystyrene is dispersed in trichloroethylene and successive layers of the dispersion mixed with glass fibres, concluding with one or more layers of polyestyrene.
