Abstract
Polypropylene film which can be split into fine fibres when subjected to manual friction, shearing stress, crimping or fluid turbulence is produced by extruding a polypropylene having a flow rate of 50-250, or a mixture contg. such as polypropylene as main component, into a film, pref. of thickness 10-150 mu and orienting the cooled film longitudinally by stretching it axially to at least eight times its original lenght. A mixture of polypropylene with polyethylene or an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer may be used.
