Abstract

1,012,829. Balloon limiter. K. NIMTZ. May 28, 1964 [May 30, 1963; June 1, 1963], No. 22042/64. Heading D1D. A balloon limiter 1 for spinning or twisting machines, particularly a doubling spindle, is of aluminium or an alloy thereof and has, on its inner surface a chemically or anodically porous oxide layer the pores or cracks of which contain a sliding and/or a separating agent. The agent is preferably silicone emulsion or oil or a polymer of a halogenated hydrocarbon possibly blended with a synthetic material having a plasticizing or film-forming effect. The layer may be formed on the inside of a rigid balloon limiter or it may be formed on a foil 3 which is inserted in a rigid holder 1.
