Abstract

The material comprising a base of elastic phenylformaldehyde paste, and a wood protector contains a Cu and/or Zn compd. a basic complex, partic. ammonia, 3 degrees amine (triethanolamine), an alkaline carbonate or hydroxide and an inorganic salt having an insecticidal and fungicidal anion. Pref. the anion is a fluoride, partic. alkaline fluoride or bifluoride or ammonium fluoride or bifluoride. The anion may also be borate or arsenate. Specif. the salt is copper fluoride, hydroxide or carbonate or zinc fluoride. The material is used for protecting wood based articles against fungi and insects.
