Abstract

A frame is pivotally connected to a support by trunion elements and supports, and an extendable jack-type link device is connected between the support and frame to effect pivotal movement of the frame and thereby move a carriage slidably mounted on the frame towards and away from the furnace outlet. The carriage may be held in a selected position in which a duct carried by the carrier is aligned with the furnace outlet and a second duct for conducting exhaust gases from the furnace. Appts. is esp. suitable for use with an electric furnace.
