Abstract

Smoothing and antistatic effects are obtained, esp. for pneumatic type cords, by applying to the fibre, pref. polyester or polyamide, after spinning, 0.1-5% wt. 1-25% wt. solution or emulsion of a composition based on (A) an amine salt of an alpha-sulphonyl-(fatty acid) ester, the alcoholic constituent being chosen from 1-22C alkanol, polyethylene glycol with 2-205 ethylene oxide units, 2-8C alkylene glycols, and addition products of 1-20S moles of ethylene oxide with 8-22C fatty alcohols, the amine being chosen from alkanolamines, alkylamines and 1-22C polyalkylene-polyamines, and (B) a high MW fatty acid ester; acid chain being 8-22C, and alcohol chain 1-22C, and total of carbon atoms being at least 22; (A):(B) = 1:99:99:1, pref. 75:25-25:75 up to 5% wt. bactericide is opt. incorporated.
