Abstract
High temp. ceramic/metal seal formed by polishing mating surfaces, coating with colloidal silver and, after evaporating the binder, pressing together at high temp. in an inert atmosphere, (e.g. 800 degrees C for 48 hours). Suitable for bonding piezoelectric ceramics e.g. LiNbO3 to metal container for operation immersed in liquid sodium at 600 degrees C i.e. in nuclear reactor coolants.
