Abstract

A multistation transfer press is equipped with a built-up transfer mechanism, for the transfer of workpieces between work stations, modified by at least one separate transfer device at one work station, which is fitted to the tooling support for the station concerned and is built in and taken out of the press together with the tooling. The timing of this mechanism is linked with the drive shaft for the press punches to be effectively coordinated with them. The provision of a separate transfer device for a given work station permits it to be tailor-made for the workpiece as produced at the work station concerned. Also, fitting is simplified as the mechanism can be prepared prior to fitting into the press as a unit.
