Abstract

The animal carcases slung on hooks are transported between a first, horizontal rigid guideway and a second vertically adjustable, horizontal guideway via a swivelable elevator positioned between the guideways. The elevator has a guide unit for an endless, powered roller chain which can be brought into drive-contact with the hooks and is mounted on a guide frame. The upper stringer of the chain forms the continuation between both guideways and runs on a support track. Plate-like triangular couplings project from the outer circumference of the roller chain.
