Abstract

Reheating furnace heating method in which the furnace cell is fitted with a two section burner. During full heating, comburent is fed to both section of the burner, but during the period of temp. regulation, comburent is fed to one section of the burner only, while recycled fumes from the furnace are fed to the second section. Increases the fluid volume in circulation in the cell despite the low heating conditions resulting from the low flows of combustible and comburent and enables the flame temp. to be decreased during the regulation period. Ingots in soaking pit may be evenly heated. It may used in other furnaces where delays have occured and there is a waiting period.
