Abstract

Percussion fuse for rotating projectile consists of a fuse box, a rotor containing a detonator which can move from a safety position into a primed position and a detonator which can be cocked by a spring and blocked by blocking pieces against movement by the spring, the blocking pieces being surrounded by a spiral centrifuge, in which the percussion fuse blocking pieces held in radial guides of the fuse box by the centrifugal spiral go through a ring-shaped throat of the detonator 22 in one piece. The annular throat narrows towards the axis of the detonator; the rotor is spherical and precessed and has a flat area against which rests the detonator under the action of a spring in the safety position of the rotor. Specif., the wall of the ring-shaped throat nearest the rotor is a conical surface which widens towards the rotor, whilst the blocking pieces are spherical. Prior art device tended to get jammed when fired preventing detonation, which risk is eliminated by the above.
