Abstract

A device to introduce air or fresh charge material to a horizontal rotary furnace, e.g. hot air granule dryer or tube furnace comprising a tronconical circumferal chamber attached to the rotating furnace wall, the terminal chamber wall being independent of the furnace but sealed airtight with flexible joint to the overwall. Charge material or air is admitted to the chamber via a chute debouching through the stationary wall to a series of vanes to spread the charge radially to peripheral orifices in the ven housing. Spent material may be removed via an axial outlet port or alternatively air may be admitted via the port to the oven zone.
