Abstract

The wheel is a combination of a metal and a synthetic section. The metal one consists of a wheel fastening disc to be fastened onto a revolving part of the vehicle, and a rim. The plastic section is fastened to the metal one, and carries an ornament on one side. - The metal section consists of steel, while the synthetic section consists of a homogeneous elastomer, e.g. polyurethane with a density of 50-90 lb. per cubic foot. It may alternatively consist of a rubber-elastic material with a cell-structure, or of a urethane material with a micro-cell structure, and a density of 50-70 lb. per cubic foot. It is fastened to the metal section by an epoxy adhesive.
