Abstract

Aminoethane sulphonate esters, taurines and betaines. Cpds. of formula (I), (II) and (III) are prepd. by reacting an alkylethene sulphonate (V) and an amine (IV), opt. followed, by hydrolysis or heating, according to the following reaction scheme. (where R = alkyl and the substs. on (IV) are monovalent or form a heterocycle and the substs. on (V) are conventional). The products are useful as intermediates, surfactants, and phytosanitary cpds.
