Abstract

The drive relies on the interaction between a rotating magnetic field produced by a stator and a screw thread on a rotating cylinder (armature) traversed by the magnetic field. The cylinder is pref. hollow and mounted indirectly on the control rod support; the magnetic screw thread producing longitudinal movement of control rod is pref. formed by two prooves on the cylinder and two grooves on the stator, the windings in the latter grooves being fed wit steady currents flowing in opposite directions.
