Abstract

Tunnel kiln is used for firing bricks and provides for the material to be piled onto carriages which are run through the kiln at a specific speed. Exhaust gases are moved through the kiln in the opposite direction to the path of travel of the material to be fired. At the hottest part of the cooling zone there is a tapping point connected with a recuperator for the exhaust gases, and this is associated with a ventilator which recirculates the exhaust gases. Exhaust-gas and hot-gas branch conduits are provided and the combustion zone is provided with connecting pieces for introducing secondary air.
