Abstract

Horizontal bias cutter, a cloth separator and roller, a jointer, a cut fabric edge holder and an edge detector form the installation. A straight cutter is pointed and has two slicing slicing edges; it is movable on a carriage above a rod with a round groove, pre-stretched over a guide frame. A knife support has, on two sides, profiled wheels which apply two tension cables stretched by springs in the cutting zone of the pre-stretched fabric strip to be cut, to press againt the rod. Tilting elements stop the terminal edge of the disengaged bias cord strip. The edge detector has an element tiltably mounted on the detector, to detect the front edge of the fabric strip which is uncut in the direction in which it is lifted off; these are coupled. The disengager has pulleys to transport cut fabric segments to the level of the bias cutter, so that the stop time is reduced.
