Abstract

The crown is a corrugated strip shaped to agree with the toothing profile of the gear to be produced. Specif., a pair of coupled toothed wheels are arranged between two pairs of bending elements. The toothing on these wheels corresponds to the gear being manufactured, and the strip passes between them to form corrugations. Each pair of elements can be moved towards each other, or vice-versa, and also in a plane parallel to that comprising the rotation axis of the toothed wheels.
