Abstract

The glass has a compn. (% wt.) 79.0-83.0 SiO2, 14.0-16.0 B2O3, 1.5-2.5 BaO, 0.7-1.7 K2O, 0.3-0.7 Li2O, and 0.5-0.7 P2O5. Microconductors of metals melting in the range 1350-1450 degrees C (e.g. Nichrome) in lengths in excess of 1m may be produced with this glass.
