Abstract

A low temperature fusible glass for use in cathode-ray tubes consists essentially of in weight percentage 87 to 84% of a network former composed of 60 to 70% of B2O3, 4 to 8% of SiO2, 5 to 10% of K2O and/or No2O and 5 to 10% of BaO and/or CaO and from 13 to 16% of a network modifier composed of a plurality of metal oxides (e.g. ZnO and Li2O) whose coefficients of thermal expansion are substantially similar in magnitude. Where ZnO and Li2O are used as the network modifier the Li2O forms 40 to 50% of said modifier.
