Abstract
An alloy has the following percentage composition by weight: .Cr.25 -33 .Ni.45 -53 .Nb.3.5 - 6 .W.1 - 5 .C.0.3 - 0.6 .Fe.(at least 4) the remainder Ta may be present up to 0.5 in the Nb and the alloy may also contain Mn up to 2, Si up to 0.5 and B 0.1 - 0.4. The alloy is suitable for constructions which are in contact with molten glass and particularly for centrifugal apparatus for producing glass fibres (see Division C1).ALSO:A centrifugal device for producing glass fibres is made of an alloy having the following percentage composition: .Cr.25 -33 .Ni.45 -53 .Nb.3.5- 6 .W.1 - 5 .C.0.3- 0.6 .Fe (at least 4) the remainder. Ta may be present up to 0.5 in the Nb and the alloy may also contain Mn up to 2, Si up to 0.5 and B 0.1-0.4. A glass of the following percentage composition is referred to: .SiO2.61.25 .SO3.0.31 .Fe2O3.0.4 .Al2O3.4.0 .CaO.8.5 .MgO.4.1 .Na2O.12.55 .K2O.0.49 .B2O3.5.2 .BaO.1.6 .F.2.5
