Abstract

Improved funnel tube and tube mat for production iron and steel ingots. G7-. Casting of cylindrical hollow body of mutually bound segments of heat resistant and heat-insulating casting, pref. of circular or square container with projection at one end and a recess at other, each pref. provided with a welded sheath of melting point higher than temp. molten steel, whereby the outer surface of body is wholly covered with perforated steel plate and its inner surface is wholly covered with welding of material of higher melting point higher than that of molten steel, and the heat-resistant and heat-insulating casting consists of from 75-90% of fire-resistant material with particle size 1 mm, of from 3-10% pref. 4-7% of fibres, and from 4-15% of organic binder, pref. a heat age-hardened resin.
