Abstract
Metal, in particular steel, is furnished before facing, with a thin layer of another metal, e.g. zinc, tin or silver; plated aluminium material may be used. Use, as facing component, of a composite material used in accordance with above. Thickness of intermediary Al layer is 0.3 - 1 mm; composite materials fabricated by cold welding by pressure, veneering by laminating, or by pressure resulting from explosion whereby: AlZn layer (at 5%) is applied by laminating; steel to be plated is coated by galvanic means with zinc layer of approx. 5 microns and the two are joined by explosion.
