Abstract

Light sensitive materials for producing a direct print are produced by submitting unexposed material to evenly distributed electro-magnetic radiation. Advantages are that exposed materials do not require liquid treatment and are particularly suitable for oscillographic recording. Compared with non pre-exposed material halo and fogging are reduced, contrast is improved; the effect of previous exposure lasts a long time. Treatment can be carried out on material on the reel, prior to shipment to users, and with white light as emitted by neon lights.
