Process for the prodn. of panels of uniform thickness from foamed plastics with the aid of a double belt press comprises depositioning the foamable mixt. (4) in rough distribution on the belt by means of a device (2) moving slowly across the direction of transport, and then distributing the mixt. uniformly over the whole belt width to the desired layer thickness by passing the belt through the split between a roller (5) and a support (6), which may also be a roller. The foamable mixt. is pref. used in such an amount that a sausage of the mixt. is formed before the roller split. The temp of the roller (5) and/or the support (6) is pref. controlled.
