Abstract

The plant is used in the commercial rearing of rabbits, and comprises a series of compartments each containing a battery of cages (B,F). Granular foodstuffs are fed from storage silos to individual cages, and droppings are deflected (2) onto conveyor belts (18). Three storey double cage (B,B) lines may be flanked by parallel single cage (F) lines of a similar height, the former being used for breeding purposes and the latter for fattening. Round section (6) and half round section (5) down pipes feed the cages providing a trough in each cage, and coming together to form a triple funnel (15) served by a travelling overhead hopper.
