Abstract

The present invention concerns a method for production of cellulose pulp with a brightness of at least ISO 85 without chlorine bleaching chemicals, in which method the finely divided cellulose-containing fibre material is cooked and delignified to produce a pulp whose kappa number is no more than 14 or so. The method is further characterized in that the pulp is bleached with an ozone additive of 2-10 kilogram/adt, where the pH value is between 2 and 7. To remove heavy metals, the pulp is treated without intermediate washing, using either acid or complexing agents. After this, the pulp is wetted and/or dewatered and finally bleached with peroxide. <IMAGE>
