Abstract

A drink-making machine has upper and lower boiling chambers 11, 25 which can be moved in relation to each other for pressing a band-shaped filter 36 between them during preparation of the drink. The chambers can be separated for removing the filter band 36 from the boiling chamber, and the residues of the drink preparation can be removed therefrom. After this, the filter band 36 is returned to the chambers which are then free for the next process. A hold-down netting 20 touches the upper surface of the filter 36 so as to hold it down when the plunger 26 moves upwards in the lower chamber in order to force air through the filter for mixing the drink. When the plunger 26 reaches an upper dead position, the hold-down netting 20 is lifted. When the plunger passes the opening, coffee is poured. A glass coupling has been arranged at the plunger 26 and a crankshaft arm 31 connection rod 37, such that the plunger 26 remains for longer at its upper and lower points. Depending on the powder mixture and the oxidation of the mixture, or a combination of these, the extraction result is increased by adding a large volume of air during the time the drink is being made. <IMAGE>
