Abstract

The invention concerns an arrangement for measuring the shape of an object's surface. A position-sensitive detector 3 comprises a first position-sensitive detector 3.1 and a second position-sensitive detector 3.2, which is two-dimensional; the arrangement comprises a beam divider 10 for dividing a beam cone scattered from the object's surface into a first cone 11 to the first detector 3.1 and a second cone 12 to the second detector 3.2; an optical magnifier 13 for magnifying the second cone's image and for forming the second detector's image area as a part of the optical magnifier's magnification- determined part of the first detector's image area. The beam divider and the optical magnifier are mounted on a frame 5. The first detector 3.1 is designed as a coarse positioner for directing the second cone's 12 image to the second detector's 3.2 image area in combination with transporter 6. In addition, data-processing equipment 7 is designed to determine the position of the second cone from the second detector's 3.2 image area, and on this basis, by further calculation, to arrive at a more accurate measurement than that obtained from the transporter. <IMAGE>
