Abstract
The subject of the invention is a method for crystallization of proteins with the aid of high pressure. According to the method a supersaturated aqueous protein solution is put into a pressure-resistant vessel, and the solution is subjected to a pressure which suitably is between 1000 and 3000 bar. The crystallization can also be carried out in two or more stages, with seed crystals being first produced at high pressure and the actual crystallization being performed at lower pressure with the aid of said seed crystals.
