Abstract

The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of flexible, windable laminate material. The material contains an intermediate plastic layer 2 with laminated outer layers 1, 3 on opposite sides thereof, which remain unchanged at the softening temperature of the material of the intermediate layer 2. The laminate material is formed by joining, at the their longitudinal edges 4a, two or more elongate laminate webs 4 containing the corresponding layers, two adjacent webs 4, for making the said joint, having a smaller thickness in an edge zone 4a of defined width than in the middle part of the web, due to the fact the that one of the outer layers 3 does not extend to the outermost edge of the web. Joining is performed so that the surfaces of the edge zones 4a, which are visible up to both outer layers 3, are placed opposite and hot-joined by means of the material of the intermediate layer 2, which is present on at least one of the surfaces at the edge zone. In this way it is possible to manufacture material more than 3 m wide. <IMAGE>
