Abstract

The arrangement proposed for forming a fibre material in accordance with the present invention comprises partly a feed-er conveyor, partly two drums 4 and 5 located after the feeder conveyor as seen in the direction of motion of the fibre material 3 in the form of a fibre web. The drums are arranged in the same plane symmetrically in relation to the forwards-conveyed fibre material 3 such that they can rotate synchronously with each other in opposite directions. There is also a device, forming part of the arrangement, for corrugating the fibre material. The arrangement according to the present invention is characterised in that the device for corrugating the fibre material comprises curved vanes 6 and control devices 7, whereby the curved vanes 6 are arranged on the cylindrical surface of each of the drums 4, 5 and are evenly distributed over same. The vanes 6 are arranged parallel with the axis of rotation of each of the drums 4, 5 and form one row of vanes 6, whereby the concave surfaces of the curved vanes 6 are turned to face the direction of motion of the fibre material 3. The control devices 7 are arranged on both sides of the fibre material 3. Each control device 7 is designed to operate alternately, near the side surface(lateral edge surface) of the curved vanes, with one side at a time on a part of the row of curved vanes 6. In a discharge zone for the corrugated fibre web 9, each control device 7 includes a section 10 which is parallel with the corrugated fibre web's 9 direction of motion and is in contact with the fibre web 9. <IMAGE>
