It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a device of the type mentioned in the introduction, the main features of which are set out in the appended claim 1.

Thanks to the invention, a towel package is now provided with a device which, in addition to closing the towel strip stored in the container to the required extent, allows easier ejection than before, protects the towel strip when it is pulled out of the container, and allows the desired length of towel to tear off. The device according to the invention thus fulfills its purpose excellently, but at the same time is simple and inexpensive in structure.

Figure 1 shows a package for a towel strip, which is preferably provided with a perforation in the longitudinal direction for separating the individual towels. Towels may be untreated or impregnated with a suitable cleaning or disinfecting fluid. The package comprises a container 1 in which a towel strip, not shown in the drawing, is placed, and a closure device 2 sealed to the open end of the container 1. The closure device 2 comprises a lid consisting of a top part 3 and a bottom part 4. The upper part 3 is intended to close and seal the container when not in use and is therefore provided with a collar 5 projecting below it, which, when the part 3 is sealingly against the part 4, fits around a similarly formed collar 6 projecting above the lower part 4 . The collar 6 is provided with a thickening 7 which engages a recess 8 made in the collar 5 of the upper part 3. Inside the collar 6 there is an opening 9 through which a strip of towels 3,58099 is intended to be pulled out of the container 1. Extending over the opening 9 are four tongues 10 which are flexible. because they, as well as the entire closure device 2, are made of ordinary commercial plastic such as polyethylene or polypropylene. Opposite parts of the tongues 10 always delimit the open hole 11 in the middle of the opening 9- The hole 11 is so large that the towel strip can be pulled out of the container 1 with a relatively small force. The towel strip itself thus fills the hole 11 and provides sufficient sealing to prevent unwanted evaporation from the container 1, even if the lid 3 is open, because, after one or more towels have been pulled out and torn off, a hole about one inch long protrudes from the hole 11. the remaining 1 strip of towel in the container. As mentioned, the tongues 10 are preferably made in one piece with the lower part 4, but separated from each other by means of slots 13 extending radially outwards from the hole 11. The slits 13 pass mainly radially through the hole, after which they move in a helical path towards the collar 6. Due to this shape of the slots 13, i.e. radial and helical, a longer slit is obtained with a certain collar diameter, which in turn gives the tongues 10 better elastic properties. The portions facing the holes of the tongues 10, i.e. the tips 14, are rounded so that when the towel strip, when pulled from the container 1, is partly torn and partly can easily slide into the slot 13 and stick between the tongues 10 for tearing. The towing of the towel should take place in the longitudinal direction of the container 1, while the tearing takes place in such a way that the strip is pulled obliquely outwards with respect to the longitudinal direction of the container 1, thus causing said towel strip to adhere between the tongues 10.

After tearing the desired towel length out of the hole 11, the part of the towel strip protruding remains inside the space formed inside the collars 5 and 6 when the upper part 3 of the lid is fixed against its lower part 4. In order to facilitate the opening of the lid part 3, both this and the lid part 4 are provided with gripping recesses 15 and 16.

Finally, it should of course be stated that the invention is not limited to the embodiment described, which has been described by way of description, but that several modifications may be made within the scope of the invention as set out in the appended claims.
