Abstract
Keksintö koskee menetelmää ja laitetta metsäharvesterin tukin paksuuden mittauslaitteen kalibroimiseksi. Puunkorjuupaikalla mittauslaite (50), jolla on haarukkamainen mittapää (51), asetetaan vähintään yhden puun (52) ulkopintaa vasten. Puiden halkaisijat mitataan havaitsemalla mittauslaitteen mainitussa mittapäässä sijaitsevan lähettimen (54) lähettämien optisten tai akustisten aaltojen heijastuksia, vastaanottamalla mainittujen lähetettyjen aaltojen heijastukset, ja laskemalla etäisyys (H) lähettimen ja puun pinnan välillä. Mitatut halkaisija-arvot syötetään harvesterin prosessointiyksikössä olevaan muistiin. Harvesterin tukin paksuuden mittauslaitetta kalibroidaan tämän jälkeen mitatuilla halkaisija-arvoilla.
