Keksintö koskee laitetta (10) säteilylähteen (S) paikantamiseksi. Laitteeseen kuuluu paikka (11) ympärihavainnoivalle säteilynilmaisimelle (D) ja varjostin (12) sovitettuna vaikuttamaan paikkaan sovitettavissa olevan ympärihavainnoivan säteilynilmaisimen havaitsemaan säteilyyn (R). Lisäksi keksintö koskee myös säteilynilmaisinta, järjestelmää (100) ja menetelmää säteilylähteen paikantamiseksi.
