The box 1 shown in Fig. 1 comprises a bottom box part 2 which can be placed on a tray 3. In the embodiment illustrated in the drawings, a tray trolley 3 with wheels 5 is used as a base. The box part 2 has an opening hatch 8 through which goods can be placed in and out. The hatch 8 is hinged to the bottom of the lower pin 10 on the side of the box portion 2 so that its top edge is closed with the lid 8 closed at the top of the box portion 2. A lid 4 can be placed over the box part 2. The top surface of the lid 4 has recesses 21 near the corners. If the boxes 1 are stacked on one another, the wheels of the undercarriage on top of the lid 4 will be recessed. The lid 4 is made of plastic, but it can alternatively be made of cardboard, for example. However, the cardboard cover has no recesses 21.
