Claims (12)

1. Ett förfarande för att framställa en optisk fiber vars 1jusöverföringsegenskaper varierar i förhällande tili olika sträckningstillstand hos fibern och vilken fiber särskilt innefattar ett omräde där det uppstär en lokal störning i brytningskoefficienten eller en lokal förändring intill fiberkärnan, da omrädet utsätts för en mekanisk belastning, särskilt en sträckbelastning eller en sammanpressande belastning eller en böjbelastning, särskilt ett omräde som innefattar mikroböjning, kännetecknat av att man lokalt uppvärmer fibern pä ett litet omräde vars utsträckning i fiberns längdriktning motsvarar högst ett fätal fiberdiametrar, varvid denna utsträckning särskilt utgör mindre än 5 fiberdiametrar.
2. Förfarande enligt patentkrav 1, kännetecknat av att man utför den lokala uppvärmningen inom detta omräde genom fiberns hela tjocklek och omkring fiberns hela omkrets. • · • · t

6. Förfarande enligt nägot av patentkraven 1-5, kännetecknat av att man utför uppvärmningen med hjälp av en ljussträle vars intensitet är stor och som man fär särskilt ur en laser.
7. En optisk fiber för att användas som detektor, kännetecknad av att fiberns kärna omfattar en S-formig böjning där en parallellförskjutning av de avsnitt av fibern som * · ··· - ligger intill böjningen till sin storlek utgör högst ett fatal • » *· f iberdiametrar, varvid denna förskjutning särskilt utgör * · mindre än tvä f iberdiametrar, betraktad i en riktning * · · • ·’ vinkelrätt emot fiberns längdriktning.
