FOLDING COMPUTER FURNITURE

In homes and offices, traditional computer workstations look very confusing, with lots of cross-wires and various accessories everywhere.

In homes, computers with tangled wires have been used as play equipment in children's rooms. Now, the computer gaming generation is entering adulthood, and home computers have become more clearly utilized through Inteme-5, CD-ROMs and maps, banking connections, etc., bringing the computer to other spaces, often the living room. It fits neatly into a tiny space that can be opened to a full-fledged workstation if needed.

Nowadays, computer desks are used as standard desktops with 1 o additional features, such as a pull-out keyboard level under the front of the desk top, an elevated level for the screen, or a foot holder for a laptop computer. These are convenient and cheap, but not very cool solutions.

The coolest way is to hide the computer inside the cabinet. These can be found in various cabinet or drawing solutions. They are large in size, yet they do not have enough work space or even time.

One solution is a folding computer desk. Solutions of this type are e.g. WO 9603901 (Figure 14) and US 4709971 (Figure 15); and utility model protection DE 9404456 U (Figure 16). They are all characterized by the fact that they are made up of two 'halves' facing each other, which are opened horizontally by rotating 90-180 degrees. When opened, they do not increase the actual work platform, but bring the auxiliary platforms to the side. When folded, they do not cover less than half their surface area and cannot be used at all when folded.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to a piece of furniture for a computer device, the keyboard of which can be pushed and the side tables can be turned under the table. Thus, a desk with a desk height of 2 x 1700mm x 700mm folds down into a cabinet with a base area of 700mm x 500mm, which fits in under 1/3 of its surface when folded.

According to Fig. 7, the computer furniture according to the invention consists of a stand (1) 10 which may be provided with wheels (15). From the back of the stand rests the rear frame (2) with two pillars, the top of which has a computer platform (3). Below the computer platform is a retractable keyboard platform (4), the slide rails (18) of which are arranged so that when retracted, it lowers down (Fig. 9).

The rear frame (2) has hinged side tables (6) whose planes (8-12) are arranged at different positions 15 in height so that they can pivot under the computer plane (3) and the underlying keyboard plane (4).

Below the top level there may be a drawer (10). The top of the side table (8) can rise up like a desk cover, whereby there may be, for example, a printing device. If there is a large device (17) underneath the side table, e.g., a laser printer, it may, when assembling the furniture, also take up the shelf space of another side table (Figures 2, 5 and 6).

The upper part of the computer furniture according to the invention can be implemented in several different ways. Figures 1,5, 7 and 10 show a protective cabinet (13) attached to the frame section, which may have either side-opening doors or a sliding door (16) in front (Figs. 1 and 8). with side tables (6). However, the upper doors can be opened separately for small operation, allowing the keyboard to be pulled out.

Figures 6, 7, 10 and 11 have only one door at the bottom, whereby it and the associated side table are first pivoted (Figure 1BB).
