Abstract
The process consists of (a) treating milk with a soln.of sodium bicarbonate or bicarbonate-carbonate mixt. to achieve perfect solubilisation of the aflatoxins in the aq. phase; (b) then adding a methanol-acetone mixt. to ppt. the bicarbonate and part of the proteins, leaving the aflatoxins, dissolved in the phase of methanol-acetone-water; (c) adding chloroform so that the methanol-acetone and the aflatoxins pass into the chloroform phase; and (c) removing the solvents in a rotary evaporator.
