The process, for use in printing fabrics, consists of (a) printing the material on the front side with a thermoplastic adhesive; (b) passing it through a calender at low heat and pressure with the printed side in contact with a coloured layer on a carrier, so that the zones in contact with the adhesive, reactivated or catalysed by the heat, are transferred from the carrier to the sheet material; and (c) passing through a cooling phase in which the adhesive solidifies, leaving the corresponding zones of the coloured layer fixed and polymerised on the sheet material.
