Abstract

The invention relates to a method and equipment for mining steep mineral seams, particularly in collieries. Horizontal directional roads 14 which cross each other and an inclined road 16 connecting them, formed at the beginning of the mining cycle and having advantageously an inclination (slope) which is equal to the mean slope of the seam, are created at different levels in essentially parallel and horizontal cross-cuts 13. A complex of machines 24 for the mechanical mining and the cutting of the advancing long wall as well as the transport are then installed in the gate road placed below the upper directional road 14 and following the inclined road 16. The gate road is connected by an excavation to the upper directional road 14 in such a way that the advancing long wall and the panel entry are thus continued in a known manner. The connection between the gate-end road and the upper directional road 14 is ensured in continuous fashion by extending the excavation, and the obtained mineral matter is conveyed via the inclined gate-end road 16 to the lower directional road 14 or towards the transporter device located therein.
