Abstract

PROCEDIMIENTO METALOTERMICO NO ELECTROLITICO PARA LA REDUCCION DIRECTA DE OXIDO DE METALES DE LAS TIERRAS RARAS, EN PARTICULAR OXIDO DE NEODIMIO, A METALES DE TIERRAS RARAS. SE DISPERSAN LOS OXIDOS EN UN BAÑO DE CLORURO CALCICO FUNDIDO Y AGITADO, JUNTO CON SODIO METALICO EN EXCESO. ESTE REACCIONA CON EL CLORURO CALCICO PARA DAR CALCIO METALICO, QUE REDUCE LOS OXIDOS DE METALES DE TIERRAS RARAS A METALES DE TIERRAS RARAS. LA PRINCIPAL APLICACION ES LA REDUCCION DIRECTA DE OXIDO DE NEODIMIO A NEODIMIO METALICO PARA UTILIZARLO EN IMANES DE NEODIMIO-HIERRO-BORO.
