COMPRENDE PONER EN CONTACTO LA MUESTRA DE BACTERIAS CON UN ANTICUERPO ANTI-LIPOPOLISACARIDO MONOCLONAL DE MAMIFERO, QUE REACCIONA CON UN DETERMINANTE ANTIGENICO DE LIPOPOLISACARIDO COMUN A BACTERIAS GRAM-NEGATIVAS DE GENEROS DIFERENTES, ESPECIFICAMENTE CON LA PORCION DE NUCLEO LIPOPOLISACARIDO; DE MODO QUE LA FIJACION DEL ANTICUERPO DENOTA LA PRESENCIA DE BACTERIAS QUE SON GRAM-NEGATIVAS, MIENTRAS QUE LA NO FIJACION EXPRESA BACTERIAS QUE NO SON GRAM-NEGATIVAS.
