Abstract
A system for providing an aural warning to the pilot of a tactical aircraft if, on approach, the sink rate of the aircraft is excessive for the altitude at which the aircraft is flying. The warning is given only when the landing gear is down and when any weapons carried are unarmed, and the airspeed is below 300 knots. The altitude/sink rate envelope in which a warning is given is as shown.
