Abstract

The mouthpiece (M) differs from hitherto known mouthpieces belonging to diving equipment by virtue of the fact that two diaphragms (4) are stretched between fork-shaped extensions (2) held between the teeth. When the mouthpiece is inserted into the mouth, these diaphragms (4) permit clear speaking. If an air-filled hose (7) is attached to the socket (3), the free end of which hose (7) is closed by a diaphragm (8), a diver can communicate under water with a second diver. To do so, the second diver only needs to hold the diaphragm to his ear. The mouthpiece thus permits both normal breathing and speaking. It can be used in both a demand regulator (6) and a snorkel.
