Abstract

The collector according to the invention is based on the different air pressures in its interior and with respect to the atmosphere. It consists of a pneumatic supporting structure a and a pneumatic reflector b which envelops the structure a. The latter laterally delimits an internal space c, which is covered at the top and bottom by the walls of the reflector b. The rigidity of the supporting structure a is brought about when inflating it, by overpressure. When a reduced pressure is created in the internal space c, the walls of the reflector b adopt the concave shape allowing the metallised upper wall to be used as a concave mirror. All the elements of the collector are made of an inflatable material which is consequently flexible. The collector according to the invention covers a very wide range of applications: spherical, parabolic, cylindrical and cylindro-parabolic collectors.
