Abstract

The packing consists of a rigid container fitted with a lid. The lid has a flexible inflatable membrane on the inside which is shaped so as to contain the exact shape of the contents of the packing. The flexible membrane may be inflated by using a suitable gas e.g. carbon dioxide or nitrogen - in order to hold the contents of the packing against the membrane. The membrane is inflated through a valve located in the lid of the container. An inflating gun with sealed edges may be applied to the valve.
